My heart swells
Every time you say
You are here to stay
It beats twice as fast
It bleeds twice as much
My heart is too frail
Too frail for your love
For your love is no ordinary
Your love is a disease
A disease so deadly
I can find no remedy
For the remedy is also you
Your love.
My disease.
My remedy.
My heart dies
Every time you say
You are here to stay
But you always
Fly away
My heart is too frail
Too frail for your love
For your love is no ordinary
Your love is poison
But also the antidote.
Kills my heart all the time
And revives it again in no time
Your love.
My poison.
My antidote.
Let me sing you a song
Happy and sad
Love song and not
Rock and ballad
Classic and not
Let me sing you a song
And take you somewhere far
Away from your worries
Your pain and sad stories
Let me take you away
From the world and all cruelty
Let me sing you a song
That will make you feel happy
And somehow reality
Will be taken over by fantasy
Just a little bit, just for a moment
A little relief, a little break from all your grief
Let me sing you a song
That will echo in your head
And will make you forget
The sound of tears, silent or not
The sound of kids, running for their lives
The sound of unborn babies,
The sound of a father, losing his daughter
Not to the hands of the man she loves
But to the hands of lawless men
Who got nothing, but gun on their hands
Let me sing you a song
That will make you remember
Never to lose hope
Never to falter
Let me sing you a song
Let me sing you to sleep
Let me hum a lullaby
So gentle and sweet
Let me kiss you goodnight
And bid you sweet dreams
Let me hug you tight
Till you fall asleep
And when you close your eyes
I’ll pray
For you to be safe
Till the next day break
Let me sing you a song
For now,
Let me sing you a song
Shade, light and dark
A little bit more
I’m getting closer
A bit closer
To the image
I adore most
But my right hand
Started trembling
And the lines drifted
Away and away
And to deformity
It paved way
I need to erase
And retrace
And catch moments lost
While I slowly drifted
To the sea of mistakes,
Ocean of distress.
I’ll try again and again.
I’ll keep trying till I make it right
At least, till I make it right.
Ulan. Taon-taon kitang inaabangan.
Ulan. Taon-taon kitang inaabangan.
At kahit madalang mo lang ako pagbigyan
Lungkot ko kahit paano’y naiibsan
Dahil pinapaalala mo naman
Nandun man sila at ako’y nandito naman
Ang langit ay iisa, nasaan ka man.
Ulan. Taon-taon kitang inaabangan.
***
dulot ito ng kakaibang pakiramdam na dala ng ulan dito sa disyerto na may kasama pang kulog at kidlat
Like a ghost
You follow me
Like a nightmare
You visit me
Day and night
When I sleep
Or lie awake
When I dream of goodness
You creep in
Like a ghust of cold wind
In a warm windowless room
You make me shiver
Inside out, skin and bones
You occupy a lot of space
Like a pile of old newspapers
Dusty and torn
In the basement
Dark and cold
Old headlines
Old drama
Old puzzles
Unsolved, outdated
Waiting for the light
For the door to open
To be junked or burned
I wait for the day
When I can finally
Laugh while you burn.
Dance
With the wind
Sway
But don’t break
Dance
With the waves
Swim
Don’t ever sink
Dance
With your heart
Love
But don’t fall
Dance
With this life
Live
Don’t ever falter

Hello 2016! Hello Project 366!
Day 2: Project 366 | A poem on Unrequited Love
Day 3: Project 366 | What’s the weather like where you are? How do you feel about it?
Day 4: Project 366 | Dance
For I have followed you
Your every move
Your every word
For I have thought
That someday
Somehow
I will stop
Being your shadow
If only
You could stop
And give me
Just one glance

Hello 2016! Hello Project 366!
Day 2: Project 366 | A poem on Unrequited Love
Like a flower in the night
I close my petals
And shield my heart.
I stand firm
On the cold ground.
I will stay
Till I see the morning light.
Sufferings,
They also come to an end.
