The morning song calls the sleepless as the scarlet skyline sets the sleepy town ablaze.
Slowly, the neighborhood wakes up with the crowing rooster and barking dogs. The aroma of freshly baked bread wafts through the street. Engines roar, and the stillness of the night is nothing but a memory fading into the sunlight.
You check the time, and your half-open eyes venture around the room as if you didn’t know how you ended up there.
Coffee-stained cups on your desk. Unfinished work, and it’s almost the deadline. Romantic novel half-read. Half a light is seeping in through the lilac curtains.
You make a cup of coffee, the first of the many doses you’ll take. And like yesterday, the day before, and many more days before, you’ll start the infinite circle of your life.
Then as the caffeine kicks in and you face the mundane, you tell yourself it’s just another day.
Just another day.
I’d love to hear from you!
