Kandima Resort – #MyKindOfPlace in the Maldives

There are so many resorts in the Maldives and each one of them have a different vibe. Some have a rustic feel, some luxurious and some, modern and casual. Kandima Resort is one of the latest additions to the continuously increasing number of resorts in the Maldives. A combination of modern and luxurious vibe.

My friends and I stayed in Kandima for 3 days and 2 nights and we wish we could have stayed longer.

We arrived at Kandima around 11am and as we checked in, they gave each of us a bracelet which also served as our room key. Gone are the days of manual keys and vingcards. Say hello to bracelet / room key.

This concept of bracelet / room key is actually cool. You look like you are just wearing a trendy bracelet but at the same time, you don’t have to worry about carrying your key everywhere, losing it, or forgetting where you’ve placed it.

As we entered our villa, we were so excited to see the bright colors, nice interior and amenities. To be honest we wanted to take the pillows, the chairs, the chandeliers and the coffee table home if only it was possible.

We went to the bathroom and was so overwhelmed to see the outdoor shower, bath tub and jacuzzi. We so felt like celebrities (ha ha) because of the jacuzzi.

And if you think that’s about it, wait there’s more. Our villa has it’s own pool facing the beach. And if you feel that the pool is small for you, hey there’s a bigger pool right in front of you. It’s none other than the sea.

The resort is quite big. The island is actually a very long one, not the typical circular shaped island, hence it can be tiring to walk from one end to the other. Kandima has a hop-in hop-off buggy service and they also have bikes which you can rent for USD 5 per day.

After checking our villa, we suddenly felt hungry but the restaurant wasn’t open for lunch yet. Good thing they have a coffee shop called Deli. We went there and ordered sandwhich and coffee and home made ice cream.

After lunch, we headed back to our villa and guess what we did. We went to sleep (on our first day my after lunch nap was inside the room, on the second day, under the sun).

On our first night, we had our 4 course set dinner at Azure, the Italian Restaurant. The food was really, really good. And if that’s not enough, we woke up the next day to see a wide variety of sumptuous dishes on the buffet for breakfast. From fried noodles to congee, to gyoza to different types of pastries, fruits and so much more. Plus I like their ‘make your own coffee concept.’ They have a coffee machine on the buffet as well where you can just select and click the button and alas! Coffee is made in 10 seconds.

We also wanted to try their Chinese Restaurant on our second night, however, we were allocated to have dinner in Flavours, so maybe, I will try this if ever I am to visit this resort again.

Kandima boasts the biggest outdoor pool in the Maldives with a pool bar which is a very hip place with chill music which makes it a very nice area to have sun downers while watching the amazing view of the sunset.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m a LAZY Traveler, hence this type of getaway is so ideal for me. And if there are things to do in Kandima for LAZY Travelers like me, here you go:

  1. Lie on your sunbed
  2. Swim on the pool or the sea
  3. Snorkel
  4. Eat
  5. Watch the sunset and re-watch it again
  6. Sleep
  7. Repeat

Kandima Maldives is about 45minutes seaplane ride from the airport. It can also be reached by a 30 minutes domestic flight plus a 20 minutes speedboat ride from the domestic airport to the hotel. You can check their instagram account for oh so kool photos.

  4. Yes! We just arrived from our Palawan trip. Kaya this is good for next years escape. Nag researched ako and visited the official website kaso wala pang price ang mga packages except dun sa link na binigay mo. Gusto ko kasi mag book directly sa resort mismo. Check ko nalang from time to time, hopefully keribels ang rates hahaha.

          5. I hate walking dito sa siyudad. Polusyon at its highest. Not really an excuse pero wala rin kasi talagang magandang place na malalakaran here. Buti ka pa, Maldives! 😀

  9. Superb place, just the place I needed these days.

And I was checking the prices, it’s reasonable. I guess the tourist season is off. Since its showing 55% off from original price!

    1. Yes the prices are lower this time because its low season. Hey chill out 🙂

      1. I wish I can put my brain in a chiller 😁😁😁😁

It never stop thinking! So I do need to chill.

Why this time of the year is low season, because of hot weather or storms or just generally?

        1. ha ha ha don’t brain freeze yourself…

its low season till August because it is monsoon season, though it doesn’t really rain much here even though it is monsoon season, so it’s still ok to come….

          1. I love rain, specifically where beach is. I reside in KSA, so even clouds makes us go mad.

I guess it’s ideal time of vacation for me. Less people, probability of rain 😊

          2. Yeah understand, I lived in Dubai for 10 years as well and I know how the rain made people mad.

Yep, go pack your bags 😁😁😁😁

I hope I don’t miss the monsoon season. Since its been sometime I wet my clothes in open.
