All I Ask

Back home, my father always tuned in to this one FM station whenever he turns on the radio.  And this FM station always played a back to back of All I Ask by Adele and Million Reasons by Lady Gaga and both songs got stuck in my head. I so wanted to play both songs, especially All I Ask, but I didn’t have my guitar with me and my brother’s guitar doesn’t sound really nice (ha ha) so I waited till I arrived back here in the Maldives.

And the minute I was reunited with my guitar, I immediately looked for the lyrics and chords of these two songs.

I also found a very nice cover of All I Ask, and it has been playing in the office and in my head for the past week or so.

And of course, I am so compelled to record my own cover ha ha, though of course my cover isn’t as nice as the one I have been listening to, but here it is anyway (insert shamelessness here LOL)

All I Ask by Adele

I will leave my heart at the door
I won’t say a word
They’ve all been said before, you know
So why don’t we just play pretend
Like we’re not scared of what is coming next
Or scared of having nothing left

Look, don’t get me wrong
I know there is no tomorrow
All I ask is

If this is my last night with you
Hold me like I’m more than just a friend
Give me a memory I can use
Take me by the hand while we do what lovers do
It matters how this ends
‘Cause what if I never love again?

I don’t need your honesty
It’s already in your eyes
And I’m sure my eyes, they speak for me
No one knows me like you do
And since you’re the only one that matters
Tell me who do I run to?

Look, don’t get me wrong
I know there is no tomorrow
All I ask is

If this is my last night with you
Hold me like I’m more than just a friend
Give me a memory I can use
Take me by the hand while we do what lovers do
It matters how this ends
‘Cause what if I never love again?

(Bridge isn’t in this lyrics, neither on my cover)
